Canada does it the old fashioned way. Mark you ballot with an X or a check mark, fold it before putting it in the box and then they all get counted manually by real people. Sometimes the simple ways work best.

Alex Salmond in proud Scottish tradition got right into saying something that sounded daft. It went along these lines-
'It appears that the SNP may win this election and I could be first minister and the first thing I'm going to do is order an independent inquiry into this voting debacle'


If 100,000 people allegedly can't cope with two crosses and counting as far as 1 in about 30s, is it education or voter apathy about which I should be most worried in this country?
