Phew, a busy few days behind me, with three Sunday services, which included a baptism (Christian Chidera Okeke), a bishop preaching (Godwin Okpala of Nnewi), church lunch, a powerful 'Deeper' and a lot of catching up after being away.
We also had a wedding rehearsal on Sunday afternoon for the wedding of Elizabeth and Brian.
A Monday wedding - a first for me and for St Silas'. Apparently weekday and Sunday reception venues are cheaper and easier to hire (a wee tip for all couples planning a wedding). The sun shone, unlike Saturday, when it was pouring - a real pity for those couples married that day. The beautiful bride even turned up early! A lovely, though tiring few days.
Today has to be a preparation day (small group study material for the rest of the year needs to be written) plus some preparation for Sunday's sermon. Oh, and I have to see a few people too.
14th September 1970 was a Happy Monday!

I stand corrected! I should have said 'a first for me and St Silas' during my time as Rector'.
Happy Anniversary in a few weeks time......
