I'm preaching on 1 Samuel 25 this morning and can't help but reflect that the hierarchy of the Episcopal Church needs an Abigail, rather than lawyers, offering them counsel. That way, their actions over property and against people might be restrained. Terrible spiritual damage could be averted. Grace could abound. Instead, we see a story being created where material wealth and ecclesiastical power are seen to be all important. What matters to the TEC powers-that-be is being revealed. The press will love that, and the lawyers will get richer.
There will be a judgement, but not in an earthly court. Someone should really remind TEC's leaders of that.
