Simon Varwell

David, have a wonderful time - sounds like quite an adventure.

My latest favourite band, Explosions in the Sky, are playing at that festival. They're Mogwai-ish, but a bit more epic, emotional and memorable. Really beautiful crashing guitars and drums. Highly recommendable!

Safe travels.

I was fortunate enough to visit Chicago through work a few years ago, and it really is a great city. You shouldn't miss the chance to see a baseball match at Wrigley Field, which is one of the oldest and most picturesque ballparks in the country. You've timed your visit perfectly, because the Cubs are at home from the 1st to the 10th of August.

Have fun! Talking of music, you were right about U2's "A Celebration" (I'd heard it before I think, but it's not on any albums; I assume the band don't like October much as only the title track ever made it onto the 1980-1990 best of). Four versions of "New Years Day" *and* "Two Hearts Beat As One" on the remastered War is a bit much though.

Aren't Rage Against The Machine playing Lollapallooza? Their beloved by moody teenagers "F- you I won't do what you tell me!" refrain would be a great response to the evil liberals running (ruining?) the SEC ;-).
