A busy week ahead. Among other things:
Vestry Meeting on Monday night, Building For The Future Completion Group Meeting on Wednesday Night, and some lunches with very interesting people.
General Synod in Edinburgh Thursday-Saturday, then St Silas' Annual Business Meeting on Sunday.
Of course the really important business begins on Friday, when the FIFA World Cup kicks off. England vs USA on Saturday. There will be a gathering at the rectory from 6pm onwards. I'll be supporting England until they reach the final (that's hope for you!).
Why?! You're not English. And they won't reach the final as they'll probably play Brazil in the Semis (have worked it out on my wall chart!). I know lots of misinformed people in St.Silas refer to TISEC as 'Vicar School', and, even worse, madly conflate 'Anglican' with 'C of E evangelicalism' but I do hope it's not being presumed that Scottish people should support England?! Might get an Anyone But England t-shirt to compliment my Brazil and Argentina ones :-)
And I support England at Cricket (a sport the bishops play - or did - at Lambeth; how cool is that?)
